Growing up with my sister, our grandmother had a huge influence on us. We spent a lot of our youth years in the kitchen learning from her. She loved to bake and make all the sweet goodies. She often told us that someday we should open a bakery together. Losing her brought a lot of that back for me.
Our family all seemed to have an interest in growing our own garden. Having food with less preservatives was a big deal. We also thought we might save some money. If you've ever had a garden, you know that may not be true. lol. We started canning and seemed to have some extra stuff. So, we often wondered if we could sell some of it.
I always had a day between Thanksgiving and Christmas to make candy and sweet goodies in my family. I decided to share that tradition with my girls. I really enjoyed doing it. I missed it. And I really LOVE when others enjoy the stuff I make. So, we decided to turn it into a family project. Something we can all do together. I'm also able to pass on things to my kids such as canning, bread making, and baking. It can be a lot of work but, we all seem to enjoy it.
It's very important to us to use as many West Virginia grown and made products as possible. If you are a farmer that grows extra produce, or grows produce to sell, please reach out to us. We are always looking.
